The Making of a Hestia Nativity Companion

The Hestia Companions® Nativity Collection began in the 1980’s as a dream of Hestia Creation's founder, artist Linda Macdonald.  She wanted to create a collectible series of figures and accessories, made entirely by hand, starting from the original sculpting of the figures, to making and casting of the molds, to finishing with hand-painting and hand-dressing. Today, her vision continues with our studio artists and artisans, who ensure that each treasured piece is truly a “work of art”.

Step 1 - The figure is sculpted from clay.

Step 2 - A mold is made and  each  piece is

individually hand-cast in bonded marble.

Step 3 - The figure is painted by hand.

Step 4 - Figure is assembled and dressed

with fabric and other textural elements.
